I am delighted to welcome you to this site describing the work that we do here in Mozambique and the services that we offer.

The British High Commission in Maputo works with the Government of Mozambique and other partners on a broad range of political, developmental and commercial issues. We also co-ordinate the work of other British government departments at the service of the Mozambican and British public.

The Department for International Development (DFID) has an extensive partnership with Mozambique in combating absolute poverty and promoting sustainable development. The British Council has a range of programmes to put Britain’s innovation and skills at the disposal of Mozambique’s decision-makers and young people. The UK Team in Mozambique aims to help Mozambique spread the gains of development more equitably throughout the country.

Mozambique, in turn, has a lot to offer British visitors and the business community. The High Commission is here to help. We provide information and support, facilitate contacts and offer advice to those wishing to establish or develop links. Our consular and visa services help both Mozambicans wishing to visit Britain and British nationals visiting Mozambique. Our UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) team provides a high quality service to British companies seeking to do business in Mozambique, reflecting the UK’s leading position as a ‘knowledge economy’ and major investor.

As the British High Commissioner to Mozambique, I look forward to continuing to co-ordinate the work of UK institutions in Mozambique and to working with all our partners here for the benefit of co-operation between the UK and Mozambique.
