Chevening Scholarships

If you are a talented graduate in your chosen field, have an outstanding record of achievement and proven leadership potential, then the Chevening Scholarship is for you.
The Chevening Scholarship Scheme provides full funding for young Mozambicans from various walks of life and professions to undertake one year's postgraduate study in the UK. Chevening Scholars return to Mozambique after their studies with greater knowledge and skills to contribute to the socio-economic development of Mozambique.
Chevening Scholarships are offered by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and administered by the British Council in collaboration with the British High Commission, Maputo. These are fully funded scholarships covering academic fees, living costs, travel and other allowances.
Requirements:

Aged between 25 and 40 years old (45 years for women)

An excellent command of written and spoken English

Mozambican citizen

Graduates with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership potential with a minimum of three years’ relevant post-graduate work experience

Able to demonstrate outstanding performance in their chosen area of study

Dynamic and motivated in their current field with the potential to apply their studies on their return to Mozambique.

The application process for the 2009/2010 academic year is now closed. Information on how to apply for a scholarship for the 2010/2011 academic year will be advertised in late 2009.
